    The rats are jumping ship.

CHEMRISK – a research company hired by the Corn Refiners has recently taken down it’s YouTube page.

The removal was in response to negative public perception resulting from the high-fructose corn syrup ad campaign. Apparently it has become a liability to defend the sweetener.

See the last remaining ChemRisk video at CornRefinersAssoc on YouTube.

    1) I got my information from credible chemists, who know what they’re talking about.

    2) MSG stimulates the umami taste sensation, which merely makes certain savory foods taste better.

    3) Amino acids don’t cause brain damage. Reading idiot naturopathic websites, on the other hand…

    4) Addiction is a specific term relating to a specific set of conditions. It does not apply to foodstuffs, no matter how many people claim to have failed “Chocoholics Anonymous”.

harmless and non-addictive? where did you get your information from? Sure, it’s a sodium-substituted amino acid, but it was first put into food to make people eat more. MSG is bad in high concentrations found in food. It can cause brain damage, and makes your brain think crap food is good for you.

Whoever says these things are non-addictive doesn’t know what tehy are taking about. Their brains have already been messed up too much to think that it’s actually harming them.

Congrats! I lost a sizable amount of weight as well, with diet soda being one of the few “ad libitur” elements.

look at the label of what you are ingesting and look it up in google and don’t stop until you have read at least 10 sites. Look for different types of sources so you get everyone’s opinions and then weigh what has been said. It is important because you care enough to try to get healthy- you may as well have your ladder on the right wall

  • glarstout

I agree- it takes one to know one

  • Getalis

It stops being true after the word “eat”.

After that, it’s just your run-of-the-mill shrieking Internet bullshitfest.

  • Getalis

MSG is a sodium-substituted amino acid.

    It’s harmless, and non-addictive.

Put down the hysterical junk flyers and start learning some real science.

    I went from 270 to 180 while drinking diet…..

It’s not the sweetener that’s making people fat, it’s the addiction that makes people fat. Artificial Sweeteners make people MORE addicted to real sugars. I was reading an article that these artificial sweeteners have a similar effect as MSG. If anyone doesn’t know, MSG makes you ‘more addicted’ to food. If you want to lose weight, try avoiding artificial sweeteners, MSG, high fructose corn syrup, and you’ll do much better.

  • oldbag699

hey when u weigh 400 lbs 300 lbs overweight or obese or morbidley obese etc then wtf its not just the artifical sweetner that s making them fat – they eat too much and exercise too little -

  • kbonez2

Haha, true. My point was merely that many people will drink diet coke thinking that alone will “cure” their obesity and that is part of the reason studies show that diet soda drinkers are just as heavy as “nat” soda drinkers. I wish someone would take a group of obese people and switch them to diet soda and then compare them to a control group instead of all these post hoc surveys that are done. Most people can’t tell the difference which is why the science is so confusing to so many.

What’s the problem? They’re consuming less calories than if they were to down the XL pizza, PLUS an additional several hundred empty calories from “natural” Cokeā„¢.

Aspartame: bringing the loons out of the woodwork for over 28 years!

  • Getalis

Mushy, you’re on the right track. Don’t worry about what the anti-aspartame freaks (and their 92 side effects, lol) say. The stuff has been around for over a generation, millions of people have consumed it, and there haven’t been any reputable reports of anything.

  • 1nate87

wtf y would u have a natural aversion to sweet things

  • Mushy2000

I’d rather take my chances with a tumor than live the rest of my life like I am living now… I’m exercising eating right and drinking a combination between crystal light and water… I’m sure I’ll be fine…

and diet mountain dew compared to crystal light
Diet Mtn dew has caffeine and carbonation…
    crystal light has neither…

  • thetmack47

K first off diet mountain dew and crystal light have aspartame as one of their top ingredients. Aspartame won’t just cause you to gain weight. There are 92 potential side affects of aspartame and it can break down to things like formic acid and formeldahyde. Look just plain and simple it’s not good to ingest. Also Atkins can make you lose weight but make even worse than before you lost the weight. Research it. Just trying to help you out.

  • Mushy2000

I went from drinking a crap load of sugar pop a day, then 100% switching to diet drinks like diet mountain dew, and now I’m switching to things like crystal light… I can control what I eat easily I don’t have cravings or anything like that. I’m on the atkins diet right now have been for about 5 days or so and have already seen weight loss.

  • jiGGaWHAAAA

THANK YOU!! i have friends who argue that drinking diet sodas is comparable to drinking “water and flavoring” or just “flavored water”. Love the videos. Keep em comin.

  • kbonez2

Not a very PC comment, but somewhat true. Many people switch to Diet because they think that alone will allow them to drop the 10,20,30,100 lbs they need to lose. My brother used to work for Dominos and he said it would always crack him up to deliver an XL, meat lovers pizza with extra cheese to customers who would then order a diet coke to drink with it. But thats many people mentality.

  • kbonez2

So the people who drink soda are brainwashed? My mom drinks a 2 liter bottle of coke everyday, and you know why? Because she loves the taste. If coca-cola changed it to something healthier she would freak out. The masses drink what they do because they want too, not because some greedy corp. makes them do it. Blame the people responsible if you have to. Personally I like having the choice. If I want to drink my way to 400lbs its my right, if I want to drink only water I can choose that too.
