    @ItsNnicholas Most people with bulimia are not skinny. Actually, they’re usually fat. And bulimia IS an eating disorder. Yes, America is fat… but that doesn’t mean there are no eating disorders.

    We all strive for perfection and I get sucked into these mags too. But I find if I exercise, eat right and concentrate on being healthy, I feel so much better and you notice a difference in your body too. The thing about exercise is that it not only tones you but you feel more energetic and happier at the end of the day.

    You disapprove of Photoshop or re-touching? Photoshop is used for SO MANY more things than re-touching that you’d more than likely notice it.

    @KelseyBeePink

    They then should be taught that they cannot achieve what they are looking at. Only reason they would want to look like someone else is because they aren’t happy with what they look like. Only way they wouldn’t like what they look like is low self-esteem which should be taken care of by loved ones including family and friends. Re-touching photos is good for magazine sales which have been on the low.

    In my opnion, they should knock off the re-touching of photos. It’s giving young, impressionable girls eating disorders! Why eat when you can have a dream body? Like that girl in the magazine? It’s disgusting. I can understand like teeth whitening and eye whitening but not shredding pounds off…

    @funnygirlyouknow123 what eating disorders? america is fat!

  • funnygirlyouknow123

    Its sad to know that the people ( celebrities) we look up to, most of them have been “barbied” no one has perfect skin or the perfect body. Young girls look up to celebrities. This is why their are eating disorders in society, they want to look like these skinny celebs but really those celebs arent that bony. girls form an opinion on how these people look and i dissaprove of photoshop..

  • motocrossgurl18

    this is cool. i like it. BUT you dont have to be skinny just to be pretty o rsexy. lol you are who you are. =]

    Really, I never understood people who can’t recognize the difference. I LOVE fashion magazines and constantly have one in hand, but it doesn’t affect my personal body image… at least not to the degree it seems to others.

    I think what’s truly unhealthy is lacking in the ability to differentiate between reality and reality retouched.

  • anthroptics

    @drukenhard What’s not healthy is not having the cognitive abilities to realize that the image is retouched or unnatural.

    @Negwoh That’s a really good idea, lol.

    she’s in great shape to begin with!!

    “We’re going to make you a model today” – what a dumb thing to say.

  • wingsonwater

    I like my cellulite, my (as yet in development) wrinkles, my imperfections… yeah, sometimes a great big zit is annoying, but I like these things because they make me human. I don’t WANT to be plastic and perfect, a glowing golden goddess – because that is NOT what real life is about.

    france is putting through a law which magazines must state if a photo has been photoshopped and if they fail to do that they will have to pay a pretty high fine. cant remember the numbers exactly, but it was alot

  • drukenhard

    I thought you looked great before the photoshopping!

    Retouching maybe shouldn’t be banned but it should be clearly labelled and have massive fines apply if it’s not labelled.

    Creating unrealistic role models is not a healthy thing

    “I’m speechless…”
    “Yeah, yeah, yeah. Amazing, huh.”

    Classic porn conversation.

  • Besparica

    Hm, this girl is hot without photoshop.

  • BreathofArda

    so sad…

  • JanJanHolmes

    Yes. We weren’t born plastic, so why must we advertise Barbie-doll perfection? It screws over the lives of millions of people (including men), instills eating disorders, takes away confidence and in some cases result in suicide. It’s a lot more serious than people think. Dove has a petition if you feel this should stop, visit their website and stop the superficial broadcasting!

  • t5e2

    not everyone was born perfect. Photoshop makes it happen.

  • Melirodriguiz

    Yes because it makes me feel ugly :(
    And I’m not the only one that would feel this way
